10 min farm

remind you of someone?

Last weekend after the wood gathering excursion, we made a quick stop to the farm we get our beef from.

Of course I nearly needed to be pulled away from the animals.

I grew up in a rural area but I didn't live on a farm.  My Dad always said I would marry a farmer or become a vet.  I didn't do either.  I still have an intense love for animals.  I think that is what he was getting at.

I've recently finished reading The Land Remembers.  It was powerful yet simple, full of life and truth.  Certainly in my list of top reads.  It is perhaps one that should be read every couple of years, just to keep my grounding.  I could go on and on but the short and sweet of it is it's a quick read and worth every moment.  Add it to your reading list and let me know what you think.

Dad, do you remember when I nearly had you convinced to get sheep/alpacas?  All that reading, planning and dreaming I did.  You're retired now so maybe...  I'm only halfway kidding.

The dreaming continues with backyard city chickens...
